Well it depends what you need it for, if you love to text then i suggest the blackjack 2 its great i have it, or the env2 or the voyager, or the samsung propel.

Tracfones are ok... As long as you make sure it's a PRE PAID cell. They are still stylish, and you won't be mad at yourself because of a bill the teen ran up. Cingular, Verizon and all the others carry them.
sony ericsson phones are good for teens they are good for storing songs and pictures you can get memory cards for them and there not too expensive.
