Why are teenagers so into their mybooks and facespaces?

All my granddaughter does is mybook facespace and twatter. I don't understand why it is so hip! It makes no sense, why don't they just write an old fashioned letter to their friends? ;) It worked for me!!!!Why are teenagers so into their mybooks and facespaces?

hey hey we use it cuz its easier and its alot more fun than writing a letter we get enough writing in school typing is easier for us now
