Why did teenagers run away to join the army during the civil war?

The south did for the cause %26amp; adventure (many thought the war would end in a short time) some for the pay - which wasn't much BTW. The north for the same reasons until the inscription act was enforced - then they had no choice.Why did teenagers run away to join the army during the civil war?

Because of many things, such as the pressure from others. Also it pay good..
Because they believed in what they were fighting for.
They believed in the cause.
